A Heartfelt Thank You & 48th Chinook Invitational Highlights
Before diving into the highlights of the 48th Chinook Invitational, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support shown during the launch of the Rally for Hudson campaign. While a more detailed update will be shared shortly, the Blough family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered support during this incredibly difficult time. The love, prayers, and generosity shown by our community—from across Calgary, Alberta, and beyond—have been a true source of strength.
Additional details on the Rally for Hudson campaign may be found at https://cp-rally-for-hudson.square.site/. To date, over $15,000 have been raised to support Hudson's ongoing rehabilitation and recovery - let's keep it going!
This past weekend, the Calgary Patriots were proud to host 13 clubs from across Western Canada at the 48th annual Chinook Invitational, held at the Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton. With 190 Patriots swimmers competing, the team delivered an outstanding performance—achieving over 850 personal best times and securing 153 podium finishes.
Leading the way was Levi Hildebrand, who stood on the podium 9 times, followed closely by Will Cameron, Owen Jamieson, and Cadence Waldhuber, each earning 7 podium finishes. In total, 52 Calgary Patriots swimmers achieved podium placements over the course of the meet.
We also celebrate a new Club record set by Will Cameron in the 50m fly, clocking in at 26.92. Two relay teams established new benchmarks as well:
Female Open 4x100m Medley: Cadence Waldhuber, Emily Pegg, Hailey Cameron, and Maya Storck – 2:04.57
Female 10 & Under 4x50m Freestyle: Sophia Rippe, Esme Hockey, Josie Johnson, and Audrey Thompson – 2:23.78
The Calgary Patriots Swim Club extends a huge thank you to all visiting teams, swimmers, and volunteers for helping make this event such a success. A special shout-out goes to our Meet Managers, Erin and Rikki, and our Officials Coordinators, Sherri and Rebecca, for their tireless behind-the-scenes work.
We are also deeply grateful to our hospitality team—Lisa, Meghan, and Riikka—for keeping everyone fueled, and to all the volunteers who helped prepare food. Lastly, thank you to Tara, Claire, and Lisa, who had the joy (and challenge!) of organizing and distributing the well-loved prize packages.
