A Stellar Weekend for Our Swimmers

This past weekend was nothing short of extraordinary for our swim club, as our swimmers delivered outstanding performances at two different meets. From personal bests to podium finishes and relay triumphs, our swimmers showcased dedication, skill, and a true love for the sport.


White Squads Shine at Winter Photos Fundamentals Circuit Meet

The White Squads made a splash at the Winter Photos Fundamentals Circuit meet hosted by Okotoks Mavericks Swimming. With 23 participants, the team put forth a phenomenal effort:

  • 87 personal bests achieved—a testament to hard work and focus.

  • 42 podium finishes: 16 gold, 14 silver, and 12 bronze medals.

Leading the charge were Esme Hockey and Huxley Maaskant, each capturing an impressive 5 podium finishes. Close behind, Roan Gatzke, Marcus Ying, and Aron Zilmukhamedov each secured 4 podium places, highlighting the depth of talent within the squad.


Success at the Sandy Ferris Age Group Challenge

At the Sandy Ferris Age Group Challenge meet hosted by Cascade Swimming, the Calgary Patriots continued to set high standards with a strong turnout of 55 swimmers:

  • 192 personal bests established—proving that commitment pays off.

  • 32 podium finishes: 6 gold, 16 silver, and 10 bronze medals.

Leading the medal count were Audrey Thompson and Everett White-Oneil, who each brought home 5 medals. Not far behind, Tomas Arroyo Olivera, Sophia Kwok, and Aaron MacDonald each secured 3 podium finishes.

Our relay teams also brought their A-game with:

  • Girls 13&Over 200m Medley Relay: Gold (Claudia Harmon, Eva Martino, Sophia Kwok, Sadie Miller).

  • Boys 11&U 200m Free Relay: Silver (Desmond Phillips, Silas Kwok, Alexander St. Arnault, Everett White-Oneil).

  • Boys 11&U 200m Medley Relay: Silver (Desmond Phillips, Silas Kwok, Tian Ren Shi, Everett White-Oneil).


Milestone Achievements

We’re thrilled to celebrate several individual milestones:

  • Sophia Kwok and Audrey Thompson achieved their first Trials times.

  • Evan Ying secured his first Festival and Trials times—a huge step forward in his swimming journey.

  • Silas Kwok achieved a Swim Alberta Youth Recognition top 5 time in the 100m Breaststroke—a remarkable accomplishment reflecting his hard work and determination.
