Calgary Patriots Swimmers Excel at CASC MiniPro Speed Meet PS #1!
The Calgary Patriots team made a splash at the CASC MiniPro Speed Meet PS #1, with an impressive show of speed, strength, and team spirit! With 48 of our swimmers hitting the pool, we’re proud to celebrate some fantastic accomplishments from the meet.
Personal Bests and Podium Performances
Our swimmers achieved an amazing 149 personal bests – a testament to the hard work and dedication put in at every practice. The club also claimed 50 podium finishes, including:
- 22 Gold Medals
- 16 Silver Medals
- 12 Bronze Medals
Record-Breaking Swims
In addition to podium finishes, we had a record-breaking weekend with 13 club records set by some outstanding swimmers:
- William Cameron dominated with records in the 50 Free, 200 Free, 50 Back, 50 Fly, 100 Fly, 200 Fly, and 200 IM.
- William Zhang set a new record in the 50 Breast.
- Federico Martino broke records in both the 100 Breast and 200 Breast.
- Hudson Blough joined the record-breaking ranks in the 100 Breast and 200 Breast.
- Levi Hildebrand finished strong with a new record in the 200 IM.
Puggles Awards
The much-anticipated Puggles Awards celebrated some phenomenal individual performances:
- Jade received Puggles for an incredible swim in her 50 Fly, posting a personal best of 29.28!
- William C. earned Puggles for his 50 Fly swim, clocking 26.72—an achievement that now ranks him 6th all-time for 13-year-olds in Canada!
- Jocelyn E. was awarded Puggles for a strong personal best in the 100 Fly and an impressive 400 Free to wrap up the session.
Highlights from the Meet
The team demonstrated resilience, skill, and the results of focused training, leaving the meet with memories and milestones. Each swimmer should be proud of their performance, whether they hit a personal best, reached the podium, or cheered on their teammates.
