Celebrating Our Successes at the 2024 KSC Halloween Howler, Mountain Madness 2024, and UCSC Fall Start Up

As the competitive swim season heats up, the Calgary Patriots Swim Club has been making waves at several recent swim meets. We’re excited to share some outstanding performances from our swimmers over the past few weeks, showcasing their dedication, skill, and sportsmanship.

The 2024 KSC Halloween Howler saw our White squads shine with 31 participants, who collectively achieved an impressive 84 personal bests! Our athletes demonstrated their commitment to improvement and excellence, culminating in 15 podium finishes. Notably, Lincoln Giroux led the charge, earning 3 silver and 1 bronze medal. Marcus Ying also stood out with 2 silver and 1 bronze.

In addition, Esme Hockey and Huxley Masskant each brought home 2 bronze medals, showcasing their competitive spirit. The success at this meet reflects the hard work and determination of our White squad members. Congratulations to everyone who participated!

Next, the Grey and Black squads took on the Mountain Madness 2024 meet in Canmore with a remarkable turnout of 48 participants, achieving an astonishing 204 personal bests. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication and training of our swimmers.

The competition was fierce, resulting in 29 podium places: 4 gold, 11 silver, and 14 bronze. Among our standout performers, Martin Jose Gutierrez Bernal, Jaydon Ondic, and Desmond Phillips each collected 4 medals. Not to be outdone, Everett White-Oneil and Audrey Thompson excelled, earning 5 medals each. Their achievements not only highlight their talent but also inspire their teammates to strive for greatness.

Finally, at the UCSC Fall Start Up, our Silver and Gold squads showed up strong with 41 participants, achieving 72 personal best times. This meet yielded 6 podium finishes with 2 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze. Notable performances came from Jade Boake, William Cameron, and Cadence Waldhuber, each of whom secured two medals. Their hard work is a shining example for all of us at the Calgary Patriots Swim Club. Will Cameron set two more club records with times of 27.25 and 1:03.06 in the 50M fly and 100M fly events respectively.

As we celebrate these successes, we also look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Each swim meet brings our athletes closer to their personal goals and strengthens our team spirit. We are incredibly proud of each and every swimmer and their accomplishments.
