Jack Frost 2024: A Great Weekend for the Calgary Patriots
This past weekend, the Okotoks Mavericks hosted the highly anticipated Jack Frost 2024 swim meet, and it was an incredible event for the Calgary Patriots! With 70 enthusiastic participants from our Black, Red, and Bronze squads, the energy in the pool was electric, and our swimmers truly rose to the occasion.
One of the highlights of the meet was the impressive achievement of 326 personal best times! Each swimmer's hard work and dedication shone through as they surpassed their previous records, showcasing the relentless spirit that defines the Calgary Patriots.
Despite the fierce competition, our athletes displayed remarkable resilience and skill, resulting in 52 podium finishes. We’re thrilled to announce that our swimmers earned a total of 21 gold, 16 silver, and 15 bronze medals. A special shout-out goes to Silas Kwok, who led the charge with an impressive haul of 3 golds, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze. Silas’s performances were truly inspiring, highlighting his talent and determination.
We’re also excited to celebrate Emiko Wong and Leah Thompson, who both secured their first Champs qualifying times! Emiko's outstanding swim in the 100 M Breast and Leah’s stellar performance in the 200 M Back demonstrated their hard work and commitment to the sport. We can’t wait to see how they continue to progress as they prepare for upcoming championships.
As we reflect on the success of the Jack Frost 2024 swim meet, we’re filled with excitement for what lies ahead. These achievements are just the beginning, and we’re eager to maintain our momentum as we train for future competitions.
Congratulations to all our swimmers on an outstanding performance! We are so proud of each and every one of you. Let’s continue to push ourselves, support one another, and make waves in the pool!
