ManSask Summer Summary 2026

For a season-capping travel meet, the Patriots hit the road to Saskatoon for four days of racing against more than 400 swimmers from across Western Canada. They returned with 26 podium finishes, including six golds, which is a tidy return on all those kilometres.

But of course, stats don't encapsulate the team building and camaraderie that happens on a team travel meet. Where else could we perform Norway's viking row celebration, or eat lunch in a firefighters hat?

Thirteen-year-oldwon the 100 Breaststroke in 1:15.99, setting a new #1 all-time club record and earning a Top 10 Youth Recognition award. It was also the highest-scoring swim of her career. She added silver in the 50 and 200 Breaststroke, plus a new Champs standard in the 200 IM. Gold, two silvers, a club record, an award, and a new qualifying cut, all in one meet.

Fourteen-year-oldclaimed two #1 spots in the club record book, moving from #4 to #1 in both the 400 Free and 400 IM. She also won the 1500 Free, earning her 15-year-old Westerns time, and collected bronze in the 400 Free, 800 Free, and 400 IM. Jumping three spots to #1 in two different events at the same meet is not something you see often.

Her brother, eleven-year-oldearned his own Top 10 Youth Recognition award in the 1500 Free, then paired silver in that event with bronze in the 800 Free. It seems distance swimming runs in the family.

The 14-year-old relay teams won both the 4x50 Free and 4x50 IM.,,, andtook the freestyle title, while the medley squad of,,, andset a new 14-year-old girls' club relay record of 2:05.21.

Adding another gold to the tally,won the 400 Free!

picked up three individual backstroke medals and climbed to #5 all-time in the 50 Back.earned silver in the 100 Breaststroke with a 1:13.00, a new career-best top swim that also moved him to #3 all-time in the 100 Breast and #2 in the 50 Breast.added a silver in the 200 Back, securing his first 14-year-old Trials time, and posted a career-best top swim in the 50 Free.

A clean sheet was delivered bywho went seven for seven on personal bests; the swimming equivalent of returning from a road trip with every charger, sock, and water bottle still accounted for.

Four days, one very long highway, and a bus full of swimmers who gave Saskatoon something to remember.
