Meet Summary 2025 JP Fiset Invitational
December in Edmonton is usually for shivering, but the Patriots were too busy hauling heavy hardware at the Kinsmen Sports Centre for the 2025 JP Fiset Invitational. With 42 podium finishes and 17 golds packed into the bus for the ride home on December 11, the club put on a technical masterclass to secure a massive 2nd place overall team finish during this mid-season travel meet. Noa Josh Burger led the individual charge, grabbing seven gold medals and a Top 1 Youth Recognition ranking in the 100 Free while claiming five separate #1 all-time individual club records.
The depth of this team was on full display with 103 total new time standards achieved, including 17 Westerns and 57 Trials marks. William Cameron was a force, securing a Top 1 Youth Recognition ranking in two different events while taking home four individual golds. In the breaststroke events, Audrey Thompson and Federico Martino both demolished existing club records to claim the #1 all-time spots, while Aria Warwick secured a new Western standard in the 100 Breast. These performances, alongside gold-medal swims from Levi Hildebrand and Willa Shortt, kept the momentum high throughout the weekend.
Youth Recognition Awards are a significant achievement on the provincial stage, and our swimmers stepped up with 23 Top 10 rankings across all age groups. Cadence Waldhuber and Samuel Bygrave both earned their place among the province's elite in multiple events, while Isla Curtis rewrote the history books with two #1 club records in the 200 Fly and 400 IM. The relay squads were just as sharp, with teams featuring Emily Pegg, Hailey Cameron, Madden Murray, and Szilard Szep contributing to an incredible 23 new Top 10 relay club records, including seven new all-time #1 rankings.
Beyond the podium, the progress was undeniable as the team demonstrated incredible technical growth. Vivaan Vaidya dropped a huge 9.1% in the 200 Free, and Charlie Serra shaved over 6% off his time in the 200 IM. Harriet Nimmon and Charlotte Bratton also delivered significant improvements in their respective events, proving that the hard work in training is translating into serious speed. It was a weekend of high-energy racing that proved the Patriots are a force to be reckoned with.
