NCSA Spring Invitational Summary
March 20, 2026
The weekend at Seton kept us busy
We walked away from the NCSA Spring Invitational with 43 podium finishes, including 17 gold medals. The squad also managed to secure eight new time standards across Champs, Trials, Festival, and Westerns levels.
The gold rush
Madden Murray led the charge with four gold medals, while Claire Scholefield, Elise Dechant, Katelyn Ford, and Rhilynn Mckibbon each earned multiple first-place finishes. Vera Swanson checked off a significant box by hitting a Westerns qualifying time in the 200 breaststroke. Meanwhile, Anna Mclellan, Miia Sikorska, Stella Pasalic, and Tian Ren Shi rounded out our successful standard-chasers with new qualifying times for Champs, Trials, and Festival.
Speed bumps in the right direction
A few swimmers had massive breakthroughs this weekend. Jayne Atamba sliced 20% off her 100 fly time, while Jolie Stone dropped 12.4% in the 100 breast. Ivy Dashevsky, Aria Chomery, and Jaiya Cheema also saw significant improvements, all cutting double-digit percentages from their previous bests.
The record breakers
Cael Coulman moved into the second spot on the all-time club list for the 8-year-old 200 backstroke. We also saw movement on the all-time top 10 boards from Aria Warwick, Elise Dechant, Lucas Chee, Madden Murray, and Vera Swanson in various breaststroke and IM events.
The bottom line
The bags are damp, the kids are currently 80% granola bar, but we’re calling the weekend a total win.
