NCSA Summary May 2026

May 29, 2026
Feeding Frenzy at MNP
NCSA invited everyone over for the weekend, and our swimmers showed up hungry. Between the podium sweeps, the new provincial cuts, and the freshly rewritten record boards, it was a productive weekend, even if the parents spent most of it trying to decode MNP's parking situation.
Three Golds and Two Record Boards Later
14-year-old Isla Curtis had a strong weekend, winning three golds across the 50 Back, 200 Fly, and 1500 Free. She also carved her name into the all-time top 10 twice over, landing at #2 in the 1500 Free and #3 in the 200 Fly. Tomas Arroyo Olivera matched her gold count, sweeping the 200 IM, 50 Fly, and 200 Free while adding a silver in the 100 Fly.
Building a Bigger Roster for Provincials
12-year-old Cameron Middleton earned his very first Festival standard in the 100 Fly, meaning he's now officially eligible for provincial competition. Welcome aboard, Cameron. 13-year-old Abigail Federkeil punched a Trials cut in the 1500 Free, and Kinley Bolitho and Yuseung Lee added new Trials standards of their own.
Fresh Names on the All-Time List
14-year-old Anna Mclellan posted a 35.74 in the 50 Breast to claim the #7 spot on the all-time club list. Gabrielle Nichols joined her on the record boards, slotting in at #10 all-time in the 15-year-old girls' 1500 Free, while Malcolm Schmidt Mitchell bumped himself up to #6 in the 13-year-old boys' 200 Breast. Meanwhile, 14-year-old Lily Kanjeru quietly went about dismantling her 100 Fly by 4.1% and setting a new personal top swim in the 100 Free — the kind of under-the-radar weekend that coaches love.
The Bottom Line
Congratulations to all the athletes. The Sharks may have hosted, but the Patriots clearly weren't on the menu.
