Patriots Make Waves Across Alberta at Three Meets Last Weekend!

This past weekend was a busy and exciting one for the Calgary Patriots Swim Club, with athletes competing across three different meets in Alberta. Swimmers from every squad showed up strong, delivering personal bests, earning podium finishes, and qualifying for major meets. Here's a recap of the outstanding performances:


RIP Fundamental Meet – Canmore

White Squad

  • 21 participants
  • 67 personal best times
  • 34 podium finishes
    (17 Gold • 10 Silver • 7 Bronze)

It was a stellar showing from our White Squad swimmers in Canmore! Leading the way were Roan Gatzke, Esme Hockey, William Pemberton, and Marcus Ying, each landing on the podium four times. Maggie Janz and Theda Pasalic followed closely behind with three podium finishes each, while Chase Daunheimer and Benjamin Timmins both reached the podium in two events.

Other podium finishers included:
Emma Burger, Clara Ellens, Eden Lyons, Cameron Middleton, Safia Morrison, Madeline Quon, Julia Su, and Mya Warwick – excellent racing all around!

Special congratulations to Esme Hockey for earning her second Festival qualifying time, posting a 39.60 in the 50m Backstroke!


NCSA Spring Invitational – Calgary

Red, Bronze, Silver, and Gold Squads

  • 56 participants
  • 155 personal best times
  • 60 podium finishes

Our senior squads were out in full force at the NCSA Spring Invitational, showcasing their hard work and team spirit. Leading the medal haul were Ulan Abbadi-MacIntosh, Tomas Arroyo Olivera, and Sadie Miller, each earning four podium finishes. Right behind them with three podiums each were Maya Gruszka, Aiden Katelnikoff, Tristan Nilsen, Ege Tutkuner, Christopher Vaage, and Jocelin Zhu.

Double podium finishes were earned by:
Lily Avery, Aliya Haggarty, Claudia Harmon, Dylan Lee, Megan Sauder, and Leah Thompson.

And rounding out the list of medalists:
Kira Barber, Declan Chambers, Marley Doig, Katelyn Ford, Amara Harris, Conrad Kadatz, Sonia Kwok, Ethan Lee, Jaden Lee, Yuseung Lee, Sunnie Leishman, Ava McDonald, Evelyn McKee, Anna McLellan, Darek Rutkowski, Miia Sikorska, Ava Virag, and Luca Young.

Pronghorn Classic - Lethbridge

Grey and Black Squads

While detailed stats are still rolling in from Lethbridge, the Grey and Black squads were in action at the Pronghorn Classic and showed strong team representation and competitive energy. We look forward to celebrating their achievements as well in the coming days! Congratulations though to Sophia Rippe, Maddyn Rushfeldt, Veronica Mangubat, and Audrey Thompson for establishing a new club record in the girls 10 & under 200m LC free relay.
