Patriots Shine at Winter Provincial Championships in Edmonton
This past weekend, the Calgary Patriots made waves at the Winter Provincial Championships Long Course (LC) meet in Edmonton. With 39 athletes representing the club, the Patriots showcased exceptional talent, determination, and team spirit throughout the competition.
Standout Performances
Our swimmers racked up a staggering 224 personal best times, highlighting the incredible progress and dedication across the team. In addition, the Patriots brought home 40 podium finishes. Among the standout performers:
William Cameron led the way with 3 golds and 4 silvers.
Samuel Bygrave followed with 2 golds, 3 silvers, and 1 bronze.
Levi Hildebrand captured 5 silvers and 1 bronze.
Cadence Waldhuber had an impressive meet with 1 gold and 5 silvers.
Hudson Blough brought home 2 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze.
Federico Martino earned 1 gold and 2 silvers.
Szilard Szep claimed 1 gold and 1 bronze.
Noa Josh Burger, Isla Curtis, and Maya Storck each added a single medal to their names, with Noa and Maya earning bronzes and Isla earning a silver.
Skyla Wever added a gold medal to the tally.
19 New Club Records
The speed didn’t stop at the podium — our swimmers set an incredible 19 new club records over the weekend!
Noa Josh Burger broke club records in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free, 400 Free, 800 Free, and 1500 Free.
Federico Martino set new marks in the 100 Free and 400 Free.
Levi Hildebrand smashed records in the 100 Free, 400 Free, 50 Back, and 100 Fly.
Hudson Blough delivered record-breaking swims in the 100 Breast and 200 Breast.
William Cameron broke records in the 50 Fly, 100 Fly, and 200 Fly.
Samuel Bygrave set new club records in the 200 Fly and 200 Medley.
Junior National Trials Qualifiers
A huge congratulations goes out to Hailey Cameron and Hudson Blough, who qualified for the Junior National Trials this weekend! We can’t wait to see what you do next on the national stage.
