Pronghorn Summary - March 2026

The grey and black squads headed to Lethbridge for the Pronghorn Classic, marking the first time many of our swimmers tackled an independent travel meet. The venue threw a curveball by mixing short and long course events, but the team managed 49 podium finishes and 23 gold medals. Swimmers also successfully secured eight new time standards for Festival and Trials.

Owen Percival had a busy weekend, collecting five gold medals while securing a new Trials standard in the 100 Back. Roan Gatzke matched that pace with four golds of his own. Meanwhile, Nathan Yungwirth and Mya Warwick crushed their breaststroke events, taking home a combined 5 golds.

Sophia Rippe had a standout showing, landing four new top-10 club records. Most notably, she moved into the #2 all-time spot for the 400 Free among 11-year-olds. The girls' 4x50 IM relay team of Maddyn Rushfeldt, Ria Veronica Mangubat, Esme Hockey, and Sophia Rippe also made their mark by setting a new #1 club record.

Several swimmers saw massive improvements in their times. Mishika Aarini shaved 22.9% off her 200 Free, while Charlotte Lowry dropped 11.9% in the 50 Free. Olivia Stuart improved her 200 Breast by 10.5%, with Safia Morrison and Eden Lyons also posting significant time drops in their respective events.

They survived a road trip without losing a single pair of goggles, which is the real victory here.
