CODES OF CONDUCT (updated June 2023)

The Calgary Patriots have always promoted the well-being, safety, and respect of all athletes, coaches, volunteers, and parents involved in the sport. These Codes of Conduct are designed to allow every swimmer to achieve their highest level of excellence and to develop personal discipline and self-motivation. They will also ensure that our training and travel experiences remain enjoyable and safe for all members of the club. The full Codes of Conduct can be found here:​​

Discipline and Complaints Policy*

Upon registration, parents and swimmers were required to accept the Calgary Patriots Discipline Policy, acknowledging their understanding of the document. The full Discipline Policy can be found here.


Dispute Resolution Policy*

This policy ensures that personnel and volunteers are vetted to ensure a safe sporting environment for athletes. The full Screening Policy can be found here.

Personal Information Protection Policy

The Calgary Patriots Swim Club is committed to safeguarding the personal information entrusted to us by our members. We manage your personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. This policy outlines the principles and practices we follow in protecting your personal information. The full Personal Information Protection policy can be found here.

Chaperone Policy

The Calgary Patriots endeavours to provide a safe environment for swimmers at out of town meets. Chaperoning provides parents with an opportunity to assist the team, get to know the other swimmers on the team and to better understand swim meet procedures and events. The Calgary Patriots Swim Club provides chaperones with transportation and lodging. The full chaperoning policy can be found here.

Chaperone Procedure

The chaperone procedures outline the tasks that chaperones perform during an out of town meet. A copy of the procedures is included in the meet binder along with other relevant information that chaperones normally require at away meets. The full chaperoning procedure can be found here.

Travel Policy

In order to provide a broad competitive experience, Patriots swimmers will from time to time travel to attend meets outside Calgary. The policy is established to provide information to ensure clear and consistent understanding of travel policy and guidelines to the membership; to ensure parents understand fiscal commitment when going on trips; and to ensure that swimmers and coaches are adequately covered from an insurance perspective in the event of an accident while on club travel. Incident Report

Should an incident occur during a Calgary Patriots event or activity, an incident report should be submitted to the Head Coach, Club Administrator, or Club President as soon as possible. A copy of an incident report can be downloaded here.​​​​​​​
