Pugsley's plunge

19th Edition being held January 17-19, 2025

The Calgary Patriots' Pugsley's Plunge Short Course Swim Meet is a beloved tradition that has united the swimming community since its debut in January 2006. The inaugural event welcomed 78 swimmers, including future Canadian Olympian Erica Morningstar, and set the stage for what would become a cornerstone of the Patriots' legacy. The meet’s name was inspired by a 'Name That Meet' contest, paying homage to Pugsley, the team’s cherished mascot and emblem of Patriot pride since 1996. Today, Pugsley's Plunge attracts over 600 swimmers annually, celebrating the team's enduring spirit and fostering a vibrant sense of camaraderie and community with every passing year.
